Staff & Member Coordinator
Often seen running around in the background at The Bower, Rich's qualifications are in the arts & business studies. He has strong beliefs in building a sustainable society & protecting Australia’s remaining forests - generally making the world a nicer place. Rich came to us with a strong history working & volunteering for many other community & environmental organisations as well as running a renovation company. He loves his job and sees it as a chance to make a real difference in his community.
This role at The Bower covers many areas, working to build the many great services we already offer and make new connections to expand our networks and services into the future.
Bower Ranger (Collections & Deliveries)
With over 11 years of service to The Bower, Greg is our longest standing member of staff. Not only does he drive our truck, scouring council clean ups, delivering goodies and collecting donations, Greg is also our resident machine man. If it's metal or mechanical, Greg knows what it is and how to fix it. He's also a regular contributor of workbenches to our consignment section.
With a life time of testing and repairing electronics, Glen has a personal passion for classic and vintage electronics. Self educated in the nearly obsolete world of valve technology, he has experience servicing the music industry. Glen has become one of the leading technicians in this part of the world for Vox musical amplifiers, and he is happy to answer any enquires and give tips and tricks. Did we mention he's in a band!?
Sales & Floor
I am a trained costume maker, milliner and shoe maker. I am also a dedicated environmentalist and bicycle enthusiast. I initiated the Bowerogaphy Events two years ago at The Bower because these discussions, screenings and practical demonstrations and workshops combined my twin passions of celebrating and encouraging the care of our natural environment, and advocating (self and peer) education in the practical and mechanical arts.
Working on the shop floor and at the counter of The Bower, I get to meet, understand, and bring together environmentally aware and socially conscious individuals, and cause-minded or action-orientated groups. I am privileged and inspired by my work at this/ my local co-op, as my guiding principles of co-operation, truth, justice, individual rights, collectivism and solidarity is often being practiced and actively advocated by the members and customers of The Bower. Everyone involved with The Bower is helping me accomplish the organisation's primary objective to reduce the amount of 'hard waste' going to landfill. It is an experience which is often times inspiring and always highly rewarding.

Sam also works on marketing the Co-Op and corresponding with Councils, media and other organisations to ensure the community is informed about events and services.
