Thuy

Sales & Floor

I am a trained costume maker, milliner and shoe maker. I am also a dedicated environmentalist and bicycle enthusiast. I initiated the Bowerogaphy Events two years ago at The Bower because these discussions, screenings and practical demonstrations and workshops combined my twin passions of celebrating and encouraging the care of our natural environment, and advocating (self and peer) education in the practical and mechanical arts.

Working on the shop floor and at the counter of The Bower, I get to meet, understand, and bring together environmentally aware and socially conscious individuals, and cause-minded or action-orientated groups. I am privileged and inspired by my work at this/ my local co-op, as my guiding principles of co-operation, truth, justice, individual rights, collectivism and solidarity is often being practiced and actively advocated by the members and customers of The Bower. Everyone involved with The Bower is helping me accomplish the organisation's primary objective to reduce the amount of 'hard waste' going to landfill. It is an experience which is often times inspiring and always highly rewarding.
