The Bower has four locations in the Sydney metropolitan area, all doing different things within the reuse and repair world.
The Bower Marrickville
Marrickville is our headquarters and flagship store. Aside from being our beloved 20 year old store, Marrickville is also home to our office staff and regular Repair Cafes. It also hosts the Men’s Shed every Thursday.
Building 34, 142 Addison Road
(Addison Road Community Centre)
Mon – Sat: 10am – 5pm, Sun: 10am – 4pm
Mon – Fri: 10am – 5pm
PLEASE NOTE: We require all donation collection requests and enquiries to be sent to us through our WEB BOOKING TOOL.
The Bower Marrickville is located 1.7km from Marrickville train station. Bus 428 (from City or Canterbury) stops on Addison Road directly out the front of the Addison Road Community Centre. There is plenty of free parking within the Addison Road Community Centre.
The Bower Parramatta
Our Parramatta premise is an important base from which we serve the communities of Western Sydney. It is a store exclusively for our House to Home customers. We hold regular workshops there, including school holiday workshops for kids, and every quarter we hold the popular ParraPickers Flea Market in the street around our shop there. It is also the location of Parramatta Women’s Shed.
Shop 1, 10 Hunter Street, Parramatta
The Bower Parramatta is located 750m from Parramatta train station.
The Route 900 / free shuttle bus stops nearby at corner of Macquarie & O’Connell Street. There is paid parking directly above The Bower in the Hunter Street (Justice Precinct) car park.
The Bower Woodworks is located within 107 Projects, a highly regarded arts hub and community space. The Woodworks is accessed via the lane behind 107.
We hold regular carpentry workshops here, and our talented team work on bespoke projects, creating our signature Bower items out of recycled materials that are sold in our stores. If you’re interested in having access to a bench where you can work independently, with supervision from a skilled woodworker, consider our Rent-a-Bench scheme. View more information on Rent-a-Bench and the Bower’s Woodworks.
107 Redfern St, Redfern NSW 2016
Entry is via the rear lane, Turner Street. You will see a doorbell to ring. Free two hour parking is available in the surrounding streets and Redfern train station is an easy five minute walk.
Banga Community Hub
The Banga Community Shed is a community hub for skill sharing and repairs of electronics. You can bring your donations of electrical appliances, and items for repair, directly here. Please note we can no longer accept electrical items for donation or repair at Marrickville. In future we’ll be running electrical Repair Cafes, workshops, tagging and testing services and a tool library. We’ll be rolling these services early in 2019 – find out more about the Banga Community shed.
