Parra Pickers

Parra Pickers Trash & Treasure Market is a quarterly night market tucked away in The Bower’s corner of Hunter Street in Parramatta.

Embrace the art of DIY this Christmas by joining us at The Bower, Parramatta, and let us show you how you can make your own gifts for friends and family. Our Parra Pickers Christmas Night Market event will take place on Saturday, December 5 between 4-9pm.

Bower Reuse & Repair Centres is offering a series of FREE maker workshops with Christmas in mind:

Make your own origami plant holders out of old magazines, encyclopedias, books and atlases;

Waste Art workshops for All-Ages facilitated by The Bowerbird Herd;

Make Your Own Christmas decorations using traditional string making practice with Stone & Bones Education;

Aboriginal Artefact Workshop: Clap Sticks;

Make your own wax wraps and learn more about how to reduce your reliance on single use plastics with PluckFastic.

Workshop numbers will be limited to allow for social distancing guidelines. You’re welcome to BYO mask or we can supply if necessary. Hand sanitiser provided. Most workshops are suitable for all ages unless otherwise specified.

If making is not your thing, The Bower has also curated a selection of market stalls selling sustainable Christmas gifts: plants, small gifts made from reused items, pickles & preserves, jewellery, books, toys and more.

Festive, family-friendly entertainment and refreshments available.

Join us and let us help you plan your sustainable Christmas.
