Community Sheds

Bower Reuse and Repair Centres’ Marrickville shop front and online store is open for business as usual. We will update the community regarding operations in Parramatta, Redfern and Banga Community Shed in late-January.

Banga community shed

Australia’s first community hub dedicated to the reuse and repair of household electrical appliances.

The Banga electrical workshop provides space for people to meet, learn, and share their skills. The shed currently offers repair services and testing & tagging of electrical items. Banga will resume it’s Repair Cafe program in the second half of 2021.

Parramatta Women’s Shed

Thanks to the support of City of Parramatta Council, Parramatta Women’s Shed is now helping the women of Western Sydney gain the confidence to pick up tools. After an exciting launch, when forty women visited the Bower Reuse & Repair Centre to discuss their interests and hopes for what the Women’s Shed would offer, a program of hands-on workshops taught by female instructors has been developed. Join the mailing list and stay up to date with all the latest about the Women’s Shed.

Marrickville Men’s Shed

Meets every Thursday 11am-2pm in The Bower Woodworks at Redfern. They work on reuse and repair projects using recycled materials. Many of their materials and projects are sourced from The Bower, and you’ll often see their finished products for sale on our shops floors. You can support the Men’s Shed by buying their beautiful work! For more information, please email info@bower.org.au
